Trump Shares Responsibility for Iran Strike, Says Convinced Him Attack Was Imminent!

United States President Donald Trump has acknowledged that advice from his senior national security team played a significant role in his decision to authorize military strikes against Iran, stating that he believed Tehran was preparing an imminent attack against the United States and its allies.

Speaking to reporters during public appearances in Florida, Trump said he acted based on intelligence briefings and counsel from key officials within his administration, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and senior envoy Steve Witkoff. He also cited discussions with adviser Jared Kushner.

According to Trump, the strike was intended as a pre-emptive move to prevent what he described as a near-certain Iranian attack.

“Within a week, they would’ve attacked us—100 percent. They were ready,” Trump told reporters, asserting that intelligence reports indicated Iran had amassed significant missile capabilities.

The remarks come amid intensifying scrutiny of the administration’s rationale for the military operation, which forms part of a broader U.S. and Israeli campaign targeting Iranian military infrastructure. While Trump insists the strike was necessary to neutralize a looming threat, critics argue that the White House has yet to present clear public evidence that an Iranian attack was imminent.

Conflicting Narratives Around the Decision

Trump’s comments also appear to distribute responsibility for the decision across his advisory circle, acknowledging that he relied heavily on intelligence briefings from his top national security officials before authorizing the operation.

However, analysts note that the administration has offered varying explanations for the escalation, including concerns over Iran’s missile arsenal, its nuclear ambitions, and the need to deter potential attacks on U.S. forces and regional allies.

Some lawmakers in Washington have questioned whether the evidence justified a pre-emptive strike, while others—particularly within Trump’s Republican base—have defended the decision as a necessary measure to protect American security interests.

Regional and Global Tensions Intensify

The military action has heightened tensions across the Middle East, drawing reactions from regional governments and global powers concerned about the potential for a wider conflict.

Officials in several Gulf states have reportedly expressed frustration that they were not fully briefed ahead of the operation, particularly as Iran launched retaliatory drones and missile attacks across the region.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials have condemned the strikes, accusing Washington and its allies of aggression and warning that further escalation could destabilize the region.

Despite the mounting geopolitical pressure, Trump has maintained that the operation was successful and suggested the broader conflict could conclude sooner than expected.

“We’ve already won in many ways,” the U.S. president said, adding that the campaign had significantly degraded Iran’s military capabilities.

Uncertain Path Ahead

The unfolding crisis highlights deep divisions in international responses to the conflict and raises fresh questions about the long-term strategy guiding U.S. policy toward Iran.

With tensions still high and investigations ongoing into several controversial incidents linked to the conflict, analysts say the coming weeks will be critical in determining whether diplomatic channels can reopen—or whether the confrontation escalates further.
