U.S. President Donald Trump has said the ongoing military campaign involving the United States and Israel against Iran could conclude “very soon,” even as hostilities and retaliatory strikes continue to reverberate across the wider Middle East.

Speaking to reporters during a press engagement in Florida, Trump indicated that the joint operation had already achieved several strategic objectives, suggesting the conflict may be approaching its final stage. However, the U.S. president did not provide a specific timeline for when the fighting could formally end.

“I think soon very soon,” Trump said when asked whether the conflict might conclude in the coming days or weeks, describing the campaign as largely successful in weakening Iranian military capabilities.

Claims of Strategic Gains
Trump also asserted that coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes had significantly degraded Iran’s defensive infrastructure, including missile systems and drone networks. According to U.S. officials cited in international media reports, numerous military sites and weapons facilities have been targeted since the escalation intensified in late February.

The White House has suggested that the pace of military operations is ahead of initial projections, which had anticipated a longer campaign lasting several weeks.

Nevertheless, Trump warned that additional military action remains possible if Iranian forces continue attacks on U.S. assets or regional partners.

Regional Conflict Remains Volatile
Despite the administration’s optimistic outlook, analysts say the situation across the Middle East remains unstable. Iranian missile and drone attacks have reportedly continued against Israeli targets and U.S. installations in the region, while military exchanges have also affected parts of the Persian Gulf and neighboring territories.

The escalating conflict has triggered broader geopolitical and humanitarian concerns. Reports from international agencies and media outlets indicate rising casualties and growing displacement in affected areas, alongside heightened tensions among regional powers.

Global energy markets have also responded sharply. Oil prices have surged amid fears that fighting could disrupt shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic waterway through which a significant share of the world’s oil supply passes.

Diplomatic Contacts and Global Reactions
Trump further disclosed that he had held conversations with several international leaders regarding the evolving situation, including Vladimir Putin of Russia. According to the U.S. president, Moscow signaled a willingness to assist in diplomatic efforts aimed at stabilising the region.

Foreign policy observers, however, caution that a definitive end to the conflict will likely require broader negotiations involving multiple regional stakeholders. Key issues include security guarantees, regional power dynamics, and long-standing disputes surrounding Iran’s military and nuclear capabilities.

For now, while Washington has expressed confidence that the campaign may soon reach its conclusion, ongoing military exchanges suggest that achieving a sustainable ceasefire could remain a complex diplomatic challenge.
