Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on Lagos residents and international visitors to witness history as the state hosts the E1 Lagos Grand Prix, Africa’s first all-electric powerboat championship. The event is scheduled to take place from October 3 to 5, 2025, along the Lagos Marina waterfront.
According to the governor, the event represents a landmark moment not only for Lagos but for Africa as a whole, positioning the state as a forward-thinking destination for clean energy, innovation, and global sporting excellence.
“This isn’t just a race; it’s a celebration of sustainability, marine innovation, and the vibrant spirit of Lagos,” Sanwo-Olu said. “We are proud to be the first African city to host the E1 Championship and welcome the world to our shores.”
