Popular Content Creator Sunshine To Be Laid To Rest On January 28 In Lagos!

Lagos, Nigeria — January 27, 2026 — Popular Nigerian content creator Iniobong Esther Louis, widely known as Sunshine, is set to be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Lagos, following her untimely death earlier this month.

According to a funeral notice shared by her close friend and fellow content creator Chidera Madu, Sunshine’s remains will be moved from Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, to Atan Cemetery, Yaba for interment.

Sunshine, 34, passed away on January 9, 2026, after experiencing complications following a fibroid surgery in Lagos. Her death was confirmed by her family, who in a statement expressed deep sorrow over her sudden demise.

In the days leading up to her death, Sunshine had reportedly suffered intense abdominal pain starting December 28, 2025, which worsened by New Year’s Day. She initially sought treatment at a Lagos hospital, where due to an ongoing doctors’ strike she was only given pain relief before being transferred to another facility. Medical tests later revealed a large fibroid condition, leading to emergency surgery. Though the operation was initially declared successful, she developed post‑operative complications that ultimately claimed her life.

Sunshine, who hailed from Nnung Udoe Itak in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was a vibrant personality in the Nigerian digital space — known for her engaging skits, modeling content and collaborations with fellow creators.

Her passing has been met with shock and grief from friends, fans and fellow influencers across social media platforms, with many remembering her as a dedicated creator whose online presence brought joy to many.
