NUC Okays 17 Degree Programmes for Fortune University, Ondo

IBGOTAKO, ONDO STATE — The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 17 new undergraduate degree programmes for the University of Fortune in Igbotako, Ondo State, ahead of the 2025/2026 academic session.The approval was conveyed in a letter dated December 29, 2025, signed by the Acting Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei, on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu. [1]According to the commission’s approval, the programmes are spread across four faculties with a total admission quota of 800 students. Under the Faculty of Science and Computing, the university will offer B.Sc. Information and Communication Technology, B.Sc. Computer Science, and B.Sc. Cyber Security. The Faculty of Lawwill run the LL.B. Law programme. [1]

In the Faculty of Basic Medical and Allied Health Sciences, the approved courses include B.Sc. Public Health, B.N.Sc. Nursing Science, and B.Rad. Radiology. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences will offer a range of programmes including B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Finance, B.Sc. Economics, B.Sc. International Relations, B.Sc. Criminology and Security Studies, B.Sc. Hospitality and Tourism Management, B.Sc. Project Management, B.Sc. Procurement Management, and B.Sc. Intelligence and Security Studies. [1]The NUC also directed the joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to consider the newly approved programmes for student mobilization. The approval marks a significant milestone for the university’s growth and the expansion of quality higher education in Ondo State and across Nigeria. [1]
