Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, has acknowledged the heavy financial burden of the ongoing confrontation with Iran, stating that warfare requires “a huge amount of money” as the Israeli government weighs a special emergency budget to fund the escalating military campaign.

In a recent video message addressing the nation, Netanyahu said Israel’s decision to enter the conflict had become unavoidable due to mounting regional tensions and security threats. While defending the government’s actions, he conceded that sustaining military operations comes with substantial economic costs.

“War requires a huge amount of money,” the prime minister said, indicating that Israel’s government may soon introduce a special defense budget to support the country’s war effort.

According to Netanyahu, the proposed financial package could allocate several billion Israeli shekels toward military operations, emergency preparedness, and national security infrastructure. The funding would help cover expenses related to air defense systems, military mobilization, and recovery efforts following attacks.

Rising Casualties From Iranian Attacks
The conflict’s human toll has also continued to climb. The Israel Health Ministry reported that 2,339 people have been injured over the past 10 days as a result of Iranian drone and missile strikes across Israel.

Health authorities said 95 victims remain hospitalized, while 191 new injuries were recorded within the last 24 hours alone, highlighting the intensity of the ongoing attacks.

Medical teams across Israel have been operating under heightened emergency conditions, treating casualties ranging from minor injuries to severe trauma caused by explosions and debris.

Escalating Regional Tensions
The latest developments underscore the rapidly intensifying confrontation between Israel and Iran, which has raised concerns among international observers about the possibility of a wider regional conflict in the Middle East.

Military analysts note that modern warfare particularly involving missile defense systems, advanced drones, and sustained mobilization places enormous pressure on national budgets. For Israel, whose defense spending is already among the highest in the region, a prolonged conflict could require significant fiscal adjustments.

Netanyahu’s remarks about the financial cost of the war come as Israel continues to reinforce its defense posture and respond to attacks believed to be linked to Iranian forces and allied groups.

Diplomatic observers warn that the evolving situation could reshape regional security dynamics, with global powers closely monitoring the escalation.

International Attention and Security Concern
Governments and international organizations have called for restraint while monitoring the humanitarian and economic consequences of the conflict. Analysts warn that sustained hostilities could strain national resources while also increasing civilian risks.

As the situation unfolds, Israel’s leadership faces the dual challenge of maintaining military readiness while managing the economic implications of a potentially prolonged confrontation.
