The manager of Nigerian soulful singer Simi has dismissed viral reports claiming that the artist and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are heading for a divorce, describing the allegations as false and misleading.
The rumours, which circulated widely on social media in recent days, were fueled by a document purporting to be a divorce petition allegedly filed at the Lagos State High Court. The document claimed the marriage had broken down irretrievably and included allegations of emotional and financial strain within the relationship.
However, Simi’s manager categorically refuted the claims, stating that the document was fabricated and contained multiple inconsistencies that undermined its authenticity. According to the manager, the use of stage names and irregular suit numbering were among the indicators that the petition was not a legitimate court filing.
The denial comes after online speculation intensified, with social media users dissecting the couple’s recent posts and public appearances for perceived signs of marital trouble. The rumours gained traction despite the absence of any official confirmation from either artist.
