The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially commenced the 2026 Direct Entry (DE) registration, running from March 2 to April 25, 2026. This initiative enables qualified candidates, including those with Advanced Level certificates, National Diploma (ND), or equivalent qualifications, to gain admission into Nigeria’s tertiary institutions through a streamlined process.
Candidates seeking to register are required to obtain an e-PIN, which serves as a unique identifier for the application. The e-PIN can be purchased through JAMB’s official portal or accredited banks and sales agents nationwide. After securing the e-PIN, applicants must complete their registration on JAMB’s online platform, ensuring that all personal and academic details are accurately entered.
JAMB emphasizes the importance of timely registration, advising candidates to avoid last minute submissions to prevent technical glitches and application delays. Applicants are also reminded to print their acknowledgment slips upon successful registration and to retain them for future verification during admission processes.
In addition to standard documentation, candidates are encouraged to carefully review the specific Direct Entry eligibility requirements of the institutions they intend to apply to, as these may vary. JAMB’s official guidelines provide comprehensive instructions for a seamless registration experience.
The Direct Entry route remains a critical pathway for higher education aspirants in Nigeria, offering opportunities for academically qualified individuals to advance into degree programmes without sitting for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
