FG Mandates Thesis Submission for NYSC Mobilisation!

Reported by David Joshua | Sele Media Africa

The Federal Government has officially approved a new policy requiring all graduating students to submit their final year projects or theses to the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) as a prerequisite for mobilisation into the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

This directive, issued through the Federal Ministry of Education, is part of efforts to promote academic integrity, curb plagiarism, and build a centralized database of Nigerian academic work.

According to the Ministry, the policy applies to students from universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other degree-awarding institutions across Nigeria.

โ€œThis move will improve research accessibility and ensure that graduates contribute meaningfully to Nigeriaโ€™s knowledge economy,โ€ a ministry official stated.

Tertiary institutions have been directed to fully comply by integrating the upload of academic projects into their graduation clearance processes.
