Lokoja — The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared its intention to reclaim power in Kogi State during the 2027 general elections, vowing to end the dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Lokoja, PDP leaders, including former Governor Idris Wada and other party chieftains, expressed confidence that the party has learned from past setbacks and is now better positioned to win future elections.“We are rebuilding our structures and reconnecting with the grassroots. The people of Kogi are tired of hardship and failed promises. 2027 is our year,” one of the party’s state executives declared.The PDP accused the ruling APC of misgovernance, economic stagnation, and neglect of key sectors, particularly healthcare, education, and infrastructure.Party leaders announced plans to begin early mobilisation, strengthen internal democracy, and present credible candidates capable of delivering good governance.This statement marks a renewed push by the opposition party to reassert itself in the state after a series of electoral defeats, including the 2023 gubernatorial race.
